Joe Block joined the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcast team in 2012 after working for more than 10 years in TV and radio in the NBA, Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball. Block also works as a voice actor, displaying a variety of characters in commmercials, narration and sketch comedy.
Prior to relocating to Milwaukee, Block hosted sports call-in shows in Los Angeles, New Orleans and Jacksonville, Florida. He has lived in nine states after making Wisconsin home. Block has called the action for more than 1,000 professional baseball games, including select games during the Expos' final two seasons in Montreal (2003-04).
On television, Block has handled major college basketball and football play-by-play on various regional networks for more than a decade. He has also been featured in several team-related comedy skits.
In his free time, Block enjoys illustrating why he got into broadcasting by playing pickup sports. He and wife, Bethany, stay active with hands-on community outreach projects.
A native of Roseville, Michigan, and a 1999 graduate of Michigan State University, Block and his family reside on Milwaukee's East Side.
